About David Nilssen

David Nilssen is co‐founder of Guidant Financial Group, Inc. Using Guidant’s services, aspiring entrepreneurs invest their retirement funds into a business or franchise without taking a taxable distribution or incurring penalties. In addition, Guidant helps small business or franchise owners obtain financing through SBA lending, unsecured loans or equipment financing.


Nilssen is regularly invited to speak at top venues throughout the country as a leading expert in small business financing. He pioneered the concept of “one‐stop shopping” in small business financing and, along with his 50+ employees, he has helped more than 5,000 individuals invest in a small business or franchise.

In both 2008 & 2009, Ernst and Young named him a finalist for their coveted Entrepreneur of the Year award.


An avid investor himself, Nilssen has purchased millions of dollars in real estate and has helped to initiate several businesses within the service industry, including a real estate agency and property management firm and a real estate development company. Nilssen and his company have been highlighted by such media outlets such CNBC, Fortune Magazine, the Los Angeles Times and the Wall Street Journal.


David serves on boards for both the Entrepreneur Organization and Youth Ventures Seattle.
